How to enable timeline in Facebook Profile

Facebook time line gives a News paper like theme look for your Facebook profile. All events related to your profile is listed in a timeline fashion.

You can also enable  Facebook time line in your profile by following the link, get timeline.

Before publishing the timeline, make sure that you have given proper permission to your Facebook photo albums and all your unwanted pictures are removed!

Beware of Facebook wall post links-Double check before clicking. Hackers are exploiting the weakness of Facebook  users to spam the walls of their friends itself.

If you find a tempting video link or an explicit picture posted by your very close friend,

• Hold back for a moment and take time to check the link to which the video or picture is pointing, it could be a spam wall post from hackers.
• If its not a usual video sharing site like YouTube, metacafe, vimeo  or Facebook then don't click it.
• Also never click if the post is pointing to a shortened URL.
• If you click on those links when you are logged in the Facebook, with same web browser, then the spammer can post same message to your Facebook friends walls also.

If you really feel that you need to follow the link shared then,

• Right click on the shared video or picture to get the target URL to which its linked.
• and open a new browser other than the browser with which you logged into Facebook. And, paste the link in the address bar and visit the webpage.

How to hide Facebook friends list

If you don't want to share the list of new friends you add to rest of your friends or public, Facebook provides an option to hide friends list. You can also show it only to specific friends.

Follow the steps below to hide your friends  list in Facebook

Step 1: Go to you profile link and Click the drop down arrow in the right top corner of your Facebook profile. Then select "Privacy Settings" from the drop down menu.

Step 2: Once you reach the "Privacy Settings" page click the "editing profile" link under the section "Control Privacy When You Post", as shown in the below diagram.

Step 3: In the "editing profile" section, click on the "Friends and Family" menu item available on the left side.

Step 4: And now from "Friends and Family" section, click the drop down arrow on the right side of Friends section. Choose the visibility of Friends list to "Only Me" to hide from all of your friends or custom friends group as you define in your Custom section.

Now your Facebook friends list will be hidden from other friends and public.

How to remove a friend in Facebook

If you might have added some people by mistake or if you prefer to delete some friends in Facebook friends list, you can follow these steps below.

Search the name of the person in the Facebook search box, then go to the Facebook profile of that person.

Keep the mouse pointer on Friend button on the right top side, below your profile name. Then select Unfriend. Done!. The other person will be deleted from your Facebook friends list

Now confirm the "Remove from Friends" button.

Permanently Delete Facebook Profile without violating terms of service

Facebook is one of the famous social networking site in the world. Facebook has enhanced lot of its feature by allowing user made applications to play around Facebook. I have came to know about so many people feeling that they are spending more time in Facebook, and slowly getting addicted to Facebook. In order to put an end to this addition, most of them would prefer to delete their Facebook profile.

Deleting Facebook profile is not so easy as you think, its a long process. If you go to the settings page you will get an option only to deactivate your account. The deactivation will disable your profile being viewed by others till you re-login to your Facebook account. Once you login, your profile will be reactivated.

One approach to block your profile permanently is by violating Facebook terms of use. Either by try to posting same text or link in people's wall and groups within short time, or by making friends request to more than two hundred people in a single stretch. And an extreme way is by putting indecent images or lewd pics in your profile and albums. But, this may not be a good way of dealing with your Facebook profile, as it would trash your impression among your friends.

The better way to delete your Facebook profile is by giving a request, to permanently delete your profile. In order to do this, you need to follow the link to make a request to permanently delete your Facebook account.

After clicking the link above, you have to confirm delete action by giving your password and solving one captcha.

Then you will get a message saying that your Facebook account will be Permanently deleted within 14 days.

But, later within this 14 days, if you wish to cancel your delete request, you can cancel the Facebook account deletion request.
