Transform Windows XP to Windows 7 for free

Are you still using Windows XP and wish to experience the latest desktop Operating System Windows 7 from Microsoft, but your hardware configurations does not allow you to upgrade to Windows 7 beta?.

Then, here is a good transformation pack, which can help you transform your current Windows XP to Windows 7 (code named Windows Vienna).

I have got couple of links for the Windows 7 transformation pack, unfortunately I could not give a try as now I am not using Windows XP. Before you apply any transformation pack make sure to set a restoration point, so that you can get back all your configurations if some thing goes wrong.

One of the transformation pack was found at freewebs.com/vistatransformationpack but the referring link found to be not working. After that I got a rapidshare link from megaleecher.net.

Another similar Windows 7 transformation pack is available hosted with devianart by blingboy31.

You can try any of these Windows 7 transformation pack to get a feel of New Windows 7, code named Windows Vienna

Chrome Reflection: Google Paints its Favicon with Colors

After making the Big G to a small g favicon, now Google team has changed its favicon to reflect the colors in Google letters. The new favicon can also be visualized as the colored version of the small g, by painting the different sections in the small g favicon with the colors in Google letters.

Any way the new favicon has given more visual appeal to the Google search home page, especially when it is residing in the tabbed browser windows.

I feel that this color change could be a reflection of Chrome, the browser from Google's stable.

Shorten long URLs and Search Result URLs with Short.to

It is often required to keep the long URL short, to easily share it with your clients, friends through social networking sites like Orkut, Facebook or through text chats. Shortened URLs using short.to will also help you to share links through Twitter very easily satisfying the character limits.

Another advantage of having short URLs are to hide the actual link directly from the user before viewing the page. This would be helpful to share referring links with other internet users and getting more people referred under your account.

Short URLs are also helpful to share the long search result URLs of Yahoo, Live and Google. Even though the similar shortening can be achieved by tinyurl.com, the key features that makes short.to unique are

Very less number of characters in the shortened URL
Integration with Google Account
The name Short.to

Get your Long URLs shortened using Short.to.

Get Free Open Solaris CD from Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems is giving free Open Solaris CDs to its registered users for free. Even though Solaris is being used in servers, still it could not win the heart of desktop users.

I strongly feel that university and college students must give a try on Open Solaris to experience its features and performance. Hope the free Open Solaris CD initiative from Sun would bring more Open Solaris users as well as community contributors.
