Mozilla Firefox is under Yahoo's cover

Google was the main company behind the promotion of Mozilla Firefox,  till they launched the Chrome web browser. It was a symbiotic relation ship between Google and Firefox, putting Google as default search engine in Firefox in one direction and promoting Firefox, through Google AdSense and allied Google sites in other direction.

But after the release of Chrome, the web browser from Google, Google is gradually  shifting their concentration away from Firefox. But, Mozilla is going to have a similar support from the other Internet Giant, its none other than Yahoo. Earlier, Yahoo had only its toolbar for Firefox, to let its users to have interactions to Yahoo services directly from the web browser. But the retreat of Google, to promote its Chrome, Yahoo has started promoting Firefox.

But we need to see how long the party will last, as Microsoft is making its move to get the bid for Yahoo. Visit the Yahoo page which promotes Firefox web browser and Download the Yahoo version of Firefox 3.

Did Yahoo miss the Social Networking bus?

Even when the waves of social networking ripples across the internet , the Internet Giant is slipping its steps to catch the Social Networking bus. Yahoo has started its spree of acquisitions to come out with a social networking site, but it seems like bursting in futility.

Yahoo once pushed 360.yahoo.com, then mash.yahoo.com, and spotm.yahoo.com as a foundation for their Social Networking ventures. But none of them could not excel and catch netizens attention properly. Now Yahoo is giving a try with its good old profiles.yahoo.com in a new bottle of Social Networking, now the profiles.yahoo.com supports having friends list as connections. Also they put it in Beta!.

Lets wait and watch, hopefully Yahoo could make it with profiles.yahoo.com

How to add more than 15 contacts per day in MyBlogLog

MyBlogLog is a very famous blog networking and tracking website acquired by Yahoo. MyBlogLog still imposes a limit for adding number of contacts per day for ordinary accounts. The current limit for adding contacts for ordinary users is 15 per day.

But now MyBlogLog users can overcome this per day limit for adding contacts by using a new service work around from MyBlogLog itself. The new service called, Friender (must be the fused version of Friend Finder), which is in beta can be used for this.


First of all you need to add all your other social networking site account information, like linkedin, facebook, friendster etc, to MyBlogLog. Sync desktop browser bookmarks with mobile

Suppose you are traveling or at your friends house and you are in need of accessing or showing some of your favorite websites you bookmarked in your desktop web browser. You may have a mobile or laptop with internet connection with you, but the bookmarks are in your home/office desktop, you will not be able to access those bookmarks.


There are couple of suggestions that would help you sync your bookmarks with mobile

Using Opera Link: Opera Link makes your bookmarks available wherever you go: at work, at home, on your phone and on the road. You can synchronize your bookmarks from your Mac or PC, from Opera Mini on your mobile phone, or log on to the Web version of Opera Link. In order to use this feature you need to have an Opera account and Opera browser 9.5 beta installed on your desktop. Goto "File" menu and click "Synchronize Opera" item. Enter your opera account details. Then the browser will take care of synchronizing your bookmarks, personal toolbar and speed dial details. You can access the same details in your mobile either by installing OperaMini 4 and synchronizing it with your opera account.

Using Google Notepad: You can have the sharing of your bookmarks with your mobile using Google Notebook also. In order to do this you need to have an account in Google and just copy the stuff you want share to the notebook with Firefox extension. Then you can access these info at : http://www.google.com/notebook/m

Using Yahoo MyWeb : Similarly with Google, you can accomplish the same with your yahoo account also. Just copy or export your bookmarks to Yahoo MyWeb. You can access the same using your mobile with internet connection. Visit: myweb.yahoo.com for more details.

Yahoo search assist says Google is best

Yahoo has introduced the search assistance feature in its web search. With the help of search assist users will get the drop down list of matching commonly searched keywords as they type the search query. Its indeed a nice effort from yahoo to reduce the time taken by user to frame search queries and thus results in faster response and productivity. You can get the search assist feature of Yahoo from the home page of Yahoo or from search.yahoo.com.

I tried giving a query Yahoo is b, then Yahoo stunned me with its first item in the search assist list. You can see the image below for reference. You may also try this by your self by typing the search query Yahoo is b in Yahoo home page or search.yahoo.com.


Then I thought of trying out a different query, that is , Google is b. Then the first item in the suggestion list said Google is best. Refer the image below for the same. You can try out the same with yahoo search, to believe.


Google already implemented this feature in Google Search very long back as Google Suggest.

Google bags second position in alexa ranking by pushing msn to third

If we analyze the traffic trend in last three months, we can see that Google has bagged the second position in the Alexa ranking, by pushing MSN to third place. Yahoo is still holding its first position in Alexa ranking, without being hampered by the online cold war.

If we look at the traffic trends, we can also see that Live.com is improving its ranking day by day. So, that means Microsoft is pushing Live.com more to conquer the online presence at the cost of MSN.com. If we see the reach of Yahoo.com in last three months, it is around 26.82%. And the reach of Google.com is 24.58%. Similarly for MSN.com is 22.78% and for Live.com it is 18.44%. So, once Microsoft transfers all its online services to Live.com, it would reach around 40%. That means we can expect, Live.com to be in the first position of Alexa ranking in the near future.

We tried searching the respective search providers name as a search query, in their on image search engines. First, we tried searching "google" in Google Image Search. And the image search results revealed that Google knows well, about what is Google. [Search Google in Google ]

Then, we tried searching "yahoo" in Yahoo Image Search. And the first image in the search result was bit embarrassing. But we got the Yahoo logo and Yahoo Messenger logo as second and third image. [Search Yahoo in Yahoo]

Then, we went with searching "microsoft" in Live Image Search. The search result gave a NICE Windows Vista wallpaper as the first image. Looks cool!!!. [ Search Microsoft in Live ].
