Storing more data will increase weight of a memory device

You might be confused if you get a question from any of your friends or even from kids, whether the weight of a memory device like pen drive or hard drive will change if more data is stored.

When I was asked same question, I confidently replied, no the weight will not change. Basically the storage in solid state devices is accomplished using transistor memories. So storing binary zero or one doesn't constitute any change in weight.

But, I happen to read an article from Telegraph UK, which says there will be a very small change in the weight if we store some data in to Kindle. It will be one billionth of a gram if we store 4GB of data.
