Windows Phone 7.5 Features and Improvements

The latest release of Windows Phone  code named "Mango" comes with lots of features and improvements from its previous releases.

The list of features and improvements in Windows Phone 7.5 are

Custom ringtones :  You can create your own ringtones using Sync, Zune or iTunes, using music available in MP3 or WMA formats

Visual Voicemail: This will list your voice mails, and let you listen to them.

New Speech Commands: This adds the hands free and eyes free use of your Windows phone. Using the speech commands you can text, reply, search the web. Its a comparable feature with Siri in iPhone 4S and Voice actions in Android.

Email and Messaging Threads: This feature allows multi application threading, which can span across text, facebook message and chats.

Conversation view: Enables the conversation view in emails, grouping based on the subject.

Linked Inboxes: View emails and messages from your multiple accounts in one view.

Groups: Contact grouping for family, friends, colleagues to pin the status and updates together, and to send group mails, text messages and chats.

Easy and integrated social sharing with multiple social networking sites: You can share videos, photos and status easily through integrated applications, like internet explorer.

Improved Me Card: The better Me card includes most of the dynamic activities and updates happening in and around your profile in the social world.

History view: The contact cards are integrated with history view of calls, emails, texts and chats associated with that person.

Real multitasking: You can listen to music  while composing a mail or text message or chat message, you wont feel the glitches. Also, you can switch between the applications easily.

App connect: Intelligent app suggestion, based on your search and interest.

Improved live tiles: The live tiles now captures more dynamic information and show the updates from your groups in a slideshow fashion.

Marketplace with more apps: More and more apps and games are getting added to the marketplace!

Better calendar: The calendar became more cleverer by supporting sub tasks and events. It also can integrates with Facebook events.

Four dimensional search: The search has become multi dimensional, now supports text search, voice search, music search and visual search!.

Local scout: Local Scout feature, powered by Bing, blends search and mapping to show you nearby malls, restaurants, shopping spots in a single tap.

Driving directions: Driving assistance integrated maps help you get proper directions.

Integrated video sharing: Now you can easily post or mail videos to Facebook or Windows live.

Automatic Photo Tagging: The phone can automatically detect faces when you are uploading to Facebook or Windows Live.

Persistent camera settings: This allows you to save your camera settings for next or future usage.

Redesigned picture hub: The picture hub has been redesigned to make it more personal and social.

Improved playlists: Add songs to Now Playing land then save them as a playlist on your phone.

Smart DJ: Allows you to play Smart DJ mixes, and even can be streamed from Zune.

Podcasts: Subscription of audio and video podcasts

Skydrive Sync: It can sync your Office docs between SkyDrive and your phone, and thus the documents will be available in computer which is in sync with the Skydrive.

Expanded Office Hub: The ways to view, navigate and search documents have improved through the Office Hub.

OneNote to to-do list: OneNote is integrated to to-do list to easily push the notes to a to-do list.

Excel improvements: Mobile version of Excel on your phone has easier cell selection with tap and dragging with AutoSum for quick calculations.

Revamped Games Hub: With the revamped Games Hub you can track your achievements, modify avatar and get messages from your Xbox live friends.

Internet connection sharing: This feature would help you share the phone internet connection with your PC, laptops, netbooks and tablets. The phone can be converted as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Hidden Wi-Fi connection: You can also connect to Wi-Fi routers which doesn't broadcast the network name.
